Why Boutique Tones for Headrush

Only real gear. Every Amp Clone and NAM profile comes from original analog equipment. We don't clone modelers or plugins, and we don't use loadboxes: every amp is played through our own collection of cabinets, microphones and studio outboard.

Made by players and engineers. Professional session players dial in and play the amps, sound engineers handle the capture chain. The result sits in a mix the moment you load it.

Search less, play more. We select a small number of amps and pedals, and a small number of tones per pack. Each one has a clear purpose, so you spend your time playing, not auditioning.

Official artist packs. Some packs are made together with the artists who own the sound, and every official pack is approved by the artist or brand behind it: BT Steve Lukather, BT Justin Derrico, BT Marco Sfogli, BT Eric Steckel, BT Ciro Manna MkII, and the official Mezzabarba packs.

Amp Clones and NAM profiles

Our Headrush packs come in two formats. The product page of each pack tells you which one, and how much content is included.

• Amp Clones. The classic Headrush format. An Amp clone includes the amp and the cabinet, so it plays as it is; a DI Amp clone includes only the amp and comes with Custom IRs voiced for it.
• NAM profiles. Since firmware 5.1, Headrush Prime, Core and Flex Prime play NAM profiles natively, A1 and A2, at full resolution. NAM is the most accurate profiling technology available today, and we are moving our Headrush catalogue to it. Our latest packs already use NAM on Headrush: BT Shiver includes NAM A2 profiles and templates in its Headrush version, while BT XTC 20Th and BT Bass Collection come as NAM versions that include ready-made Headrush rigs.

If you already own the NAM version of one of our packs, it works on your Headrush as it is: just update to firmware 5.1 or later. For now, the unit loads one NAM profile at a time.

Rigs and templates

Preset packs include complete rigs with effects, set up in Stomp mode with the effects already assigned to the footswitches, so you can play them right away. Several amp packs include template rigs to start from; amp packs without rigs give you the Amp Clones or NAM profiles to use in your own rigs.

Custom IRs and cab options

On packs with DI Amp clones or NAM profiles, the IRs are not generic: they are chosen and voiced for that amp. Several packs offer more than one cab option on the product page, from a curated essentials set to the original matching cabinet recreated as IRs. Amp clones with the cab already included don't need an IR: adding one would stack two cabinets.
