Why Boutique Tones for Fractal
Only real gear. Every preset is matched to original analog equipment we own. We don't start from other presets or plugins: the reference is always the real amp, played through our own cabinets, microphones and studio outboard.
Made by players and engineers. Professional session players dial in and play the amps, sound engineers build and fine-tune the presets. The result sits in a mix the moment you load it.
Search less, play more. We select a small number of amps and a small number of tones per pack, organized in scenes. Each one has a clear purpose, so you spend your time playing, not tweaking.
Official artist packs. Some packs are made together with the artists who own the sound, and every official pack is approved by the artist or brand behind it: BT Steve Lukather, BT Justin Derrico, BT Marco Sfogli, BT Eric Steckel, BT Ciro Manna MkII, and the official Mezzabarba packs.
How our Fractal presets are made
Fractal units don't load third-party amp captures, and only Fractal can add new amp models. So we start from the closest factory amp model, refine its parameters, and pair it with our Tone Match IRs in the cab block: IRs built to reproduce the response of our reference profiles of the real amp. We then fine-tune the whole preset against the original rig.
This is why the amp block may show a different model name from the amp of the pack: the sound comes from the combination of that model and our Tone Match IRs. Replace the IRs and the preset goes back to the normal character of the factory model. We use our own IRs instead of the Fractal Tone Match block because they work the same way on FM3, FM9 and Axe-Fx III.
What you get
Every Fractal pack is an instant download: a .fasbundle file for each device, with the presets and all the IRs they need already inside. Most packs are organized in scenes, from clean to lead, and bigger packs are spread over more presets. On FM3 some packs are split into more presets because of its processing power, and many packs include a Low CPU version for the first-generation FM3. Where a pack includes extra Custom IRs, they are for use on other devices or in your own presets.
Firmware
The product page of every pack shows the firmware versions its presets are tested and guaranteed with. Fractal firmware is backward compatible, so a preset made on an earlier version loads on a newer one. We update our presets to new firmware a few months after each official release, once they are fully tested, and updates are free.

Frequently asked questions
Which Fractal devices are compatible?
Our presets work on Fractal FM3, FM9 and Axe-Fx III. Older units such as Axe-Fx II and AX8 are not supported, but our IR packs work on them. AM4 is supported only by the packs that list it on the product page, such as BT XTC 20Th.
Why does the amp block show a different amp model?
Only Fractal can add new amp models to its units. We start from the closest factory model and pair it with our Tone Match IRs, which reproduce the response of the real amp we recorded. The sound comes from that combination, so the model name you see is only the starting point.
Are these captures?
No. Fractal units don't load third-party captures. Our Fractal packs are complete presets built on factory amp models and our Tone Match IRs, matched to the same real amps we capture for other platforms.
How do I import the packs?
Extract the ZIP, open the folder for your device and use the editor for your unit (FM3-Edit, FM9-Edit or Axe-Edit): Preset, then Import Preset, and select the .fasbundle file. The editor asks where to place the presets and the IRs. Don't use Fractal-Bot for .fasbundle files. Our Fractal Support Guide shows every step.
The preset imports empty or only the IRs appear. What should I do?
It's almost always a firmware or editor mismatch: update both your unit and its editor to the latest version, then import the .fasbundle again from the editor. If it still doesn't work, write to us with your device, firmware and a short screen recording.
Do I need to load the IRs separately?
No. The .fasbundle already contains the IRs the presets use, already converted for your unit, so you don't need Cab-Lab or any other tool. Many packs come with more IRs than a preset can hold: in that case a selection is already inside the bundle, and you'll find the others in the download, ready to add yourself.
Which firmware do I need?
The product page shows the firmware each pack is tested and guaranteed with. Fractal firmware is backward compatible, so you can use a newer version. Keep your editor on the version that matches your firmware.
My FM3 runs out of CPU. What can I do?
Many packs include a Low CPU version for the first-generation FM3: use that one. If a preset is still too heavy, lower the reverb quality and echo density settings, which free the most processing power.
Does my purchase include the other platforms?
Each purchase is for one platform, the one you choose on the product page, and covers every compatible unit of that family: FM3, FM9, Axe-Fx III and, when the product page lists it, AM4. If you want the same pack for another platform too, write to us: you get it at 50% off.
Can I hear a pack before buying?
Yes. Every product page has audio and video demos, recorded by reamping the same DI tracks through the devices. We don't offer trials, and since these are digital files they can't be returned once downloaded, so take a listen to the demos and write to us if you are not sure which pack fits you.
Will my pack be updated?
When we update a pack, you receive an email and the update is free.
