Why Boutique Tones for Kemper

Only real gear. Every profile comes from original analog equipment. We don't profile modelers or plugins, and we don't use loadboxes: every amp is played through our own collection of cabinets, microphones and studio outboard.

Made by players and engineers. Professional session players dial in and play the amps, sound engineers handle the profiling chain. The result sits in a mix the moment you load it.

Search less, play more. We select a small number of amps and pedals, and a small number of tones per pack. Each one has a clear purpose, so you spend your time playing, not auditioning.

Official artist packs. Some packs are made together with the artists who own the sound, and every official pack is approved by the artist or brand behind it: BT Steve Lukather, BT Justin Derrico, BT Marco Sfogli, BT Eric Steckel, BT Ciro Manna MkII, and the official Mezzabarba packs.

Studio Profiles vs DI Profiles

Our Kemper packs come in two formats. The product page of each pack tells you exactly which one, and how many profiles are included.

• Studio Profiles (full rig). The amp, the cabinet and the microphones are profiled together. Load it and play: the cab is already part of the sound.
• DI Profiles + Custom IRs. The amp is profiled on its own, and the cabinet comes as Custom IRs voiced for that specific amp. You get more control: swap the IR, try another cabinet, or use the amp with your own IR library. Most of our recent packs use this format.

Our latest packs, such as BT B100, BT Shiver and BT XTC 20Th, are made with 2.0 Profiling, while our earlier packs use Legacy Profiling. The product page lists the profiling type of every pack.

Performances, Rigs and Kemper Player

Most of our packs include Performances, with the profiles already arranged so you can switch sounds as you play. Many packs also include Rigs: complete sounds with effects, ready to use on their own. Kemper Player can't read Performances, so for Player users we include one Rig for every Performance. Some packs with effects need Player upgrade level III for every effect to be available: the product page says when.

Custom IRs and cab options

On packs with DI Profiles, the IRs are not generic: they are chosen and voiced for that amp. Several packs offer more than one cab option on the product page, from a curated essentials set to the original matching cabinet recreated as IRs. All our IRs are minimum phase, so they blend cleanly with each other and with third-party IRs, and they also work as a standalone cab library in any modeler, amp block or DAW.
